”A Lifetime of True Brotherhood”
A note from our High Rho: Jacob Marquart
Brothers,
It is my pleasure to be serving as the High Rho in the 2023-2024 academic year. I look forward to reaching out and keeping in touch with each of you for the foreseeable future. We will be holding an Alumni event each semester, quarterly newsletters with alumni and chapter news, as well as opportunities to engage with the chapter.
Alpha- Mu has initiated over 2200 men and has about 30 men on our roster so alumni support of the chapter is more important than ever, especially with the chapter relying on available rental properties in West Campus to have a central house the brothers can come together at. Alumni can contribute to the growth and sustainability of the chapter by contributing their time, talent, and treasure.
You can contribute your talent by mentoring brothers and recent graduates. Talent can be given in many ways: offering career advice, resume reviews and mock interviews, and helping brothers find potential jobs and internships. We have initiated the Alumni Mentorship Program that matches alumni and actives in the same professional fields. This past fall semester we had John Selman, Pete Morowski, and Tom Fusillo offer career support to the chapter.
You can contribute your treasure by donating to either the Alpha - Mu Alumni Association or directly to the active chapter. Donations allow us to host alumni events, update our ritual equipment, and provide the chapter with general financial security. We hope that you will come visit the chapter and reach out to the active brothers before donating. We have had financial support from brothers across all classes, and their donations continue to positively affect the day to day operations of our chapter. On behalf of the chapter, we would like to thank the men that have donated to scholarship funds, rush, LXA polos, active chapter, and the AMAA.
We would like to sincerely thank all our alumni who have supported the chapter by giving us their time, talent, and treasure. The impact each one of you make is felt by the chapter. We hope that you will consider your time in the chapter, and reflect on how it has shaped you to be the men you have become when you choose to support Lambda Chi Alpha Alpha - Mu Zeta.
We hope that you will come by whenever you are in the area. If you have any suggestions, recommendations, or concerns please feel free to reach out to us at rho.utlxa@gmail.com. We hope to see you soon!
Yours in ZAX,
Jacob Marquart AM 2250
Alumni Events
Lambda Chi Alpha at The University of Texas at Austin is proud of its extensive alumni support. Every semester we host an alumni reunion for brothers to meet active members and socialize with other alumni.
On the 11th of November, we host the annual “Ham Slam” festival - a tradition going back decades, that the chapter ensures is not lost to time. To attend, please get in touch with our High Rho, Jacob.
Donations
As the chapter has sustained membership of about 100 men, the support of our extensive alumni network is incredibly important to the continued growth of Alpha - Mu. Each donation, of any size, is sincerely appreciated.
