Home of Texas LXA (Fall 2021)

The Alpha Mu Chapter of Lambda Chi Alpha has called the University of Texas its home since 1917. We have initiated over 2,200 men into our brotherhood. We have a vastly diverse group of members studying Engineering, Business, Plan II, RTF, Fine Arts, Advertising, pre-law, pre-med, Computer Science, and many other majors.

Together, we compete in intramural sports, participate in philanthropic activities, enjoy strong social lives, and develop leadership skills while forming lifelong friendships.

Philanthropy

Our brothers participate in and lead many philanthropic efforts, and we greatly emphasize the importance of giving back to the community as an essential aspect of our chapter life. Lambda Chi Alpha’s proudest service event is our Feeding America Campaign, where thousands of brothers across the country raise food and monetary donations for the less fortunate.

Last Fall, our chapter raised nearly 11,000 pounds of food for our local philanthropy, the Central Texas Food Bank. We strive to make philanthropic events fun and rewarding for all of our brothers. Brothers and Associate members take two trips to the Central Texas Food Bank each month, including support our local food bank by having profit shares around the UT campus. This past semester we had profit shares at Cabo Bob’s, Moojo’s ice cream, and Chipotle. This semester we have already had a profit share at Kerbey Lane.

In the Spring of 2022, our chapter hosted Watermelon Bust, Lambda Chi's nationally recognized philanthropy event. Watermelon Bust involves sororities competing in a variety of fun field events that involve watermelons. All proceeds benefit our philanthropy, Feeding America. We have been able to secure sponsorships from Tiffs Treats, Cabo Bob’s, and Red Bull. We are still searching for corporate sponsors both locally and nationally.

We understand the great privilege it is to attend the finest university in the country, and we recognize our duty to give back to the community that serves us so well.

Intramural Sports

Our chapter's co-ed and all-male intramural teams are fun ways to promote brotherly bonding and maintain strong relationships with sororities. Throughout the fall and spring semesters we have various teams playing Basketball, Flag Football, Sand Volleyball, Ultimate Frisbee, Softball, E-Sports, Tennis Doubles, Golf, and Soccer. This spring semester we reached the championship in Flag Football. This next semester we will be competing in soccer, volleyball, basketball, softball, and tennis intramurals.
